Refund of avios booking due to death of a family member
Dear FBA FTs,
I have a booking that I made with avios (AA flight from the US to Caribbean). As I did not have enough avios, I purchased additional avios, paid airport taxes and completed the booking. What is BA policy for cancelling avios booking due to death of family member? Do I lose the "cash" component of the avios booking (cash equivalent for the avios that I purchased)? Or does BA have a policy for a full refund in such cases (avios back to the BA account and cash component back to the original payment method)? Thank you for your support.
