Yikes, what a mess.

Is BA"s rebooking deal with LH still in place? And does it allow rebooking onto Eurowings (under the LH code)? Appreciate OP doesn't want Eurowings, but these flights booked under the LH code book into "Eurowings Smart" which includes checked luggage, even priority boarding. It might not be identical to the BA offering, but BA does not need to offer an "identical" rebooking, the EC261 requirement is to provide "comparable" transport conditions. There's a decent argument a Eurowings Smart ticket is comparable.

The other option is to go to Cologne - the 21.55 service seems in place on Sundays.
