Yep, exactly this. Lots of times if I'm traveling to San Diego, adding time is super easy. Offer me to buy me a couple tacos and beers ($35, whatever) and I might be happy to stay another day. Staying with family, so I'm not dealing with a hotel. I think that's the audience those low offers are going after. If it's an inconvenience at all, the offer has to go up quite a bit of course.
