I think UA is looking for a carrier to dump its booked passengers into. At one point, it could have been Copa via PTY. I think UA should keep IAH-SCL and become the protection carrier for AC. The consolidated load might be worthwhile.
Ah thanks, that makes sense then. I hope they keep SCL, although it seems uncertain.
