Just got off mobile chat with amex and was offered and accepted 50K point retention after $4K spend in 3mo for my personal plat card. Last retention offer was 14mo ago in Oct 2022, where I got 55K pts with same spend.

Per usual they started with trying to show all the value I get from the card and then the first offer they put out was to let me pay my annual free with points at a special rate of $10 per 1000 pts. told them no thanks given I usually get > $0.07 per pt and that I was looking for a points offer. That is when I got the 50K offer. All total was on chat for about 5min.

To add some data points for what it's worth, I've been an amex customer for nearly 20 years with a platinum card close to 10 of that. I have one auth user and my YTD spend is over $75K, so at least I also get lounge guest access back.
