Had satay a few days ago. Your sauce looks similar to mine. I remember the sauce was not this thick previously and there were more peanuts. But I still think it's good satay (certainly better than SQ). Meat was tender.
I don't think frozen satays are new. I highly doubt stations such as SYD/LHR/TYO make satays just for MH/SQ flights with such consistency. Both SQ and MH uses frozen satay on the inbound flight.
