Yes, I have points in Chase and Amex. Does it matter, how many points I transfer to Virgin Atlantic ? Like 10 points will do the job ?
That part I can't tell you. Maybe someone else can chime in. Or just do a handful of points and wait for ??? (not sure how long) and give it a try.

I only have a couple thousand points in my account that I transferred in just after I opened my account, as it seems a lot of programs don't want you to just buy/transfer and then redeem for awards. Haven't tried that yet either, though.
