Checking into my flight today to ICN, Etihad wanted 290,000 points for the airport upgrade. It used to be around 40,000. As a frequent traveler, it would take roughly 1 year or more to earn that amount. Here's summary of recent amounts for airport upgrades in Q4:

within the past 6 weeks

• AUH-DOH: 80K points for upgrade (used to be 8K)
• DOH AUH: 110K points for upgrade (used to be 8K)
• AUH-JNB: 84K points for upgrade (used to be 40K)
• JNB-AUH: 120K points for upgrade (used to be 40K)
• AUH-JNB: 54K points for upgrade (used to be 40K))
• JNB-AUH: 197K points for upgrade (used to be 40K)
• AUH-ICH: 290K points for upgrade (used to be 40K)
• ICH-AUH: I'll complete later

For all these flights, advance ADCB upgrade voucher availability zero, so worthless and are expiring.

At these levels (as a frequent business traveler and EY platinum since 2014 and never a problem in the past), Etihad Guest no longer works for me anymore as redemption rates have become astronomically high with no corresponding increase on the earning side. I'll be shifting my spend to EK as much as I can and One World otherwise where I don't face these issues. Also, looking to shift away from ADCB Etihad infinite card.

Has anyone else noticed this?
