So just literally stepped off my EVA flight this morning at LAX. Other half flew yesterday and also commented that the meal service on the daytime flight was more substantial than the overnight flights, so that’s where the cost cutting went in terms of catering. Also the lounge food has definitely taken a turn for the worse.

Here is a compendium of my inflight service today including the soup and salad course missing from the overnight flight, and the hamburger also missing from the overnight menu. If you compare with my post upthread you can see the portion sizes are also larger.

Also, I decided to play the lottery this morning in the lounge and finally try one of the spinning hotdogs that my friends and I enjoy making fun of. Stomach gave me an initial “what did you just do” reaction, but no I’ll effects since then, I took a guess as to where the hotdogs had been spinning the longest and were likely fully cooked.

The hotdog roulette wheel in the BR lounge. Always choose wisely.

Shrimp and abalone appetizer

Soup course

Salad course

Fried fish

Oolong tea cake, ice cream and cheese plate

The burger - not as good as it once was. I’d skip it next time
