It’s been used previously for busy periods and routes for different sports events. This allows the operational team an advance view of the number of items to expect and flags any issues in advance. Also allows for resource planning for those flights, where extra loaders may be required. It’s possibly seen most for busy cycle events, but makes sense to do so now that ski season is here.
