no-show up and avios refund
Hi folks -
I had very stressful situation this morning when arriving at the airport for my flight to Vietnam.
The person working on the check in counter noticed that the passport number doesn't match what was on my visa, for some "stupid" reason which I blame only myself I mixed up the last three digits of my passport number, from 695 to 659.
I had to pay express vietnam visa processing some 150USD and no show fee plus difference in fares for Qatar, some 450USD but it's ok, people learn by mistakes and I think I learned by this mistake to always triple check some forms before submitting.
The pain is now that on my return flight I had an upgrade done with avios and now because of the reissue of the tickets I'm losing my avios upgrade and the avios are not refundable, I tried chatting with their whatsapp support as a gold member but they were not helpful and they were all the time pointing to the fare rules which I agree that as per their rules if no show up then all the avios or qcredits are lost, but I just wanted them to think as a humans not as a robots.
What do you guys think, should I try to escalate this "issue" through the privilege club contact form, will there be a chance for a "real" human person to read my request and say ok lets refund him the avios or lets respect the upgrade or the chances for that are slim?
