I flew in the aisle seat recently from YVR and was warned by the FA about getting my arm knocked and bumped. I didn't notice that so much but did get my toe crushed a few times by larger ladies which wasn't fun. Otherwise it was nice to have the extra space and not have the seat in front recline right into your face.

I'd do it again once I find a source of steel-capped socks.
