Keep the good legroom seat. 'Poor man's business class' is hard to beat for the money ... I'll always try and get that type of seat on any flight, particularly a long one. How often do you need to access your bag anyway?

Re: Skycouch, I did this recently with wife and toddler. It was really for the toddler's benefit, as she had more room to stretch out and could crawl around. If just the two adults had been travelling I'd actually rate your current seats higher (considering value for money) or try for a premium economy upgrade.
