Sorry to bump this thread. I have encountered a strange situation. When I purchased a flight ORD-MSP operated by AA, I opted to pay $120 to upgrade to the so-called "Main Select" fare, which includes complimentary access to the MCE seats. However, if I book the flights and attach my CX FFP number, I am still required to pay for the MCE seats. Only when I make a booking and attach my AA FFP number, I can select MCE seats for free. Is this a glitch? In addition, how can I change my FFP online? It seems to me that AA's website does not allow me to do so.
