A lot of the animosity for AS here is because they have never really opened a SFO lounge. (They took their time with the old AA lounge and removed the nice furniture.)

I tend to like AS product, and hope they can offer a competitive product at SFO.

Also—AS needs to add flights to SFO from RNO. My personal wish.
Oh, the animosity isn't for "never really open[ing] a SFO lounge." And I wouldn't even call it animosity. It is for treating us like the poor stepchild at the same time it told us that it loved us just as much as the other children. AS was a great niche airline in my early days of flying AS. And then, with acquisitions, growth, etc., it seemed like it was going to be my reliable substitute for a lot of what UA used to serve for me. Meanwhile, this, to date, did not turn out to be the case, even with OW membership. and if you had told me a few years ago that I'd be a DL PM and would have barely made MVPG status, I'd have suggested that you need your head examined.

The "good news" is that, no matter how large UA is, we're not in a captive hub, even after all the M&A. Hub or "not hub," doesn't matter what you call it. A decent overall experience (airport, inflight) at a price I'm willing to pay, I'll patronize you. And T2, even without a lounge, was a pleasant place to await a flight.
