What I think I have learned so far (please feel free to correct/update):
- There may be F availability on LH 0-14 days out, and sometimes as things open up 365 days ahead.
- UA has possibilities.
- Forget about F availability on every other AC partner for now.
- Finding 2 F seats is probably a near impossibility right now.
- Emirates F is absolutely available to book through Aeroplan, they're just not offering space on the routes you want. Just looking at next Saturday, I see F space for 2 people from DXB to each of KUL, ARN, BUD, CAI, ADD, BAH, KWI...
- Swiss denies F space to nearly all of its partners, save the occasional last-minute opportunity through UA.
- Thai operates 24 seats of F per day across the whole airline, and to my knowledge has not offered more than 1 seat per flight to its partners in recent years (and rarely offering that).
- I believe Asiana has stopped selling first class altogether.
- ANA issues are well-documented at this point, and not specific to the F cabin.
- AI F is widely available, and
almost good enough to count as equivalent to J on any other airline.
- I don't know what the heck is going on with Air China at the moment, their F was super gettable pre-pandemic.
My point is, in terms of actual unknowns for F cabins theoretically bookable on Aeroplan, it's pretty much Etihad and Oman.
