Whether NH has a codeshare isn’t directly relevant (though apparently they do). What matters is whether you were ticketed on the codeshare, which it appears you weren’t based on what you said about your eticket receipt. At least in the US, the receipt must clearly identify the marketing and operating carrier. If your ticket follows that norm, it would say “NH 4566 operated by Malaysia Airlines” or something similar if it were a codeshare.
