Really I don't see much upside here, we know the story as we just saw this play out with the VX acquisition. AS will reshuffle the planes to new routes, gut the overlapping routes, gut in flight service (though in this case maybe will improve on-board experience.

On the plus side I guess I can get AS miles for these flights, and perhaps consider stopover in HNL when connecting to Asia.
The "upside" on routes hopefully not being gutted is that we don't know (or maybe "we" do, and "I" don't) how much cargo is a component of what keeps the HA fleet in the skies.

One thing for sure is the HA lounges @ HNL won't be able to handle the AL crowds, assuming all ops move over there.
