Was sorry to see the news as I fully expect this will result in major fare increase for the Hawaii flights. Then again AS and WN are so high that I often fly UA to Hawaii.
Really I don't see much upside here for AS customers, we know the story as we just saw this play out with the VX acquisition. AS will reshuffle the planes to new routes, gut the overlapping routes, gut in flight service (though in this case maybe will improve on-board experience.
On the plus side I guess I can get AS miles for these flights, and perhaps consider stopover in HNL when connecting to Asia.

Was thinking the same thing. Always a good idea to max out bonuses for the company that is disappearing. I think Barclays issues Hawaiian and of course BofA has Alaska.
