Also sounds like perhaps the OP should have been talking to UA during the medical diversion to ensure their goals are met, goals which might not be as obvious to UA as to the OP. I learned that lesson the hard way some years ago --- in IRROPS, if you have tight scheduling constraints, you need to be proactive and advocate for them.
1. They tried to cram everyone into 871. Hence I am not the only one paid P and drop down to S (S is such a low fare bucket which I didn’t understand at all).
2. My point is that we are all frequent flyers. If you going to drop people to Y why did you clear upgrades to business. They cleared 7 while I was in anchorage.
3. My biggest beef is with airport control. They refused to release the ticket back to reservation. I didn’t get chance to rebook- until 45 min outside SFO. I know rebook is going to cost United serious money because of flying none UA carrier. So deliberately delay is not cool.
4. The other beef- I asked for NH107 and NH815 in business. They keep on telling me it’s not available. They want me to cancel and book myself thru ANA website. Because they can’t book on United website. In reality, it’s was bookable in same P bucket thru United own website.
I realize medical diversion is outside their control. But trying to screw your frequent flyer isn’t cool.
Seriously UA871 means I will have to stay in Taipei from 6PM to 9:20AM onward to KUL. No accomodation what so ever.
