Unless the entire 787 fleet gets a change no AA is not going to phase out just the Zodiacs. So you will have 20 Zodiacs in rotation.
Despite it being too short, the foot bench not big enough and narrow at the head in lie flat it really is most important just don’t get a rocking seat. That’s by far the worst of the issues.
Given your flight is so far in advance I imagine 5A or 5L are open ? Day before if it’s a BE you can try a switch to a more forward row but I actually did not mind row 5 on the late flight as I got served fairly quick given many went to bed and also it does feel a little more private in the last row.
