I would skip, not worth the hassle ... Even if you get lucky and get the closest gate to the skytrain. Your choice if you manage to get lucky.
What's your airline/flight, wondering if they'll do a quick turnaround or a longer one (and if they'll give hassle for such a short "connection" if it's under MCT)
Thanks!
GF165 BAH-SIN-BKK. Everyone has to deplane in SIN, aircraft gets cleaned and bags are unloaded/loaded (luggage for pax terminating in SIN vs new pax for the onwards fifth freedom flight), boarding usually gets called after around 1h10 mins or so, takes around 20 minutes, and the aircraft actually departs by around 2h00 after arrival. (It's only actually blocked for a 1h35 stop in SIN, but even FlightAware doesn't see it get below 2h00 in reality, sometimes even closer to 2h30 or 3h00.) Flying in J so usually one of the first off the inbound and we're both healthy adults ready to keep up the pace.
My first time flying this routing I deplaned, followed the herd, immediately cleared gate security, and stayed within the gate area, making for an annoyingly long wait. Second time I walked down the terminal, visited the lego store, visited the butterfly garden, took a shower in a lounge, had a drink, and arrived back to the gate before boarding even commenced (1h15 in that case). If 22 min walk each-way + 5 min ride each-way + 20 min buffer is the worst realistic case, and it may prove much less if minimal waiting or a closer gate, we may just take the risk (obviously keeping an eye on the departures board).
(It's mostly for my partner since it's their first time to Singapore, even first time back to Asia in 5 years, and they'd need a visa to get the full experience landside. I can just go see jewel landside during one my trips to singapore later in the month, though the novelty of driving through it is something special tbh.)
