The ticketing carrier has nothing to do with earning miles. If, as you say the flights that you were ticketing on were MH flight numbers you a should get miles (provided you were on an eligible fare class). The ticket number, or where you bought the ticket is irrelevant.

You are confusing "marketing carrier" with "ticketing carrier". They are not the same.
