I had the car treatment once on a DUB-PHL-somewhere else in the US trip (all on AA metal). My OH was mortified when they came to get us on the plane. Of course we were already 'In America' as we had cleared everything in Dublin. Had special treatment from the lounge in PHX once, again with my easily-embarrassed OH. We were taken through a very crowded gate area, pre-boarded past masses of people, then sent off the plane back to the gate area as there was a maintenance delay.
