Earning points in the UK - Tesco/Amex

Don't know if there are many of you in the UK, but I'm a little puzzled by the BA miles - Tesco link. It says on the BA website you can exchange 250 CC points for 400/800 BA miles but there's no form, just a lint to tesco, where they only talk about Air Miles. Is the exchange still valid?

It may be a bit keen, but I was thinking is moving my spend to Tesco for this deal. With a Tesco premium credit card (have to earn >£20k), you get 2 points for £2 spend. And if you average £60p/w to get a premium clubcard (one quarter per year will do??), that makes each £ worth 3.2 BA miles (800 per 250). That's a lot beter than my BA Amex (1.5 per £).

I'm about £1000 short of my companion ticket voucher on my Amex. Am I right that I'll get a voucher valid for 12 months? I only have one big trip next year to NZ and won't have enough miles for that, so I'd rather use the companion ticket in late '04/'05. Am I right to think that I'm better off delaying crossing the threshold on Amex and carrying on collecting points through Tesco until closer to the time I'll use the Amex voucher.

Any comments/answers greatly appreciated,
Paul
