I flew AKL-DFW last month. I would pick 3A and avoid 1A at all costs! Not just because of the possibility of FA noise, but there’s a lav there too. Even in 3A, I would use earplugs when sleeping. On my flight, there were a lot of chatty passengers that never slept the entire flight.
