There’s nothing stopping WN or DL from entering or growing these markets.

Sure, if WN or DL enter that might help, but WN’s had a few years and hasn’t done it yet.
with any proposed merger, don’t they look at specific markets, not just the whole enchilada? Isn’t the NE market one reason the AA/B6 linkup got rejected?
