Year increments happen in January. They also may happen during March-December if you hit the relevant number of nights.
2021 March - 2022 February: 75 nights, Incremented January 2022
2022 March - 2023 February: 50 nights, Incremented January 2023
2023 March - 2024 February: 50 nights, Incremented January 2024
And it is possible
2023 March - 2024 February: 75 nights, Incremented December 2023, no increment January 2024
I would guess that their IT system does not handle the following case well. Let's say you start from Gold status, acquire the Brilliant and Business cards, then stay every night in January and February for 99 nights (no leap year, no double night bonus). You should get incremented the year when you pass the threshold in February, but you may already have been incremented a year in January already for the past year. Then you might get incremented again in March.
I guess to just boil it down for my particular situation, normally I'd get the 2023 increase in Jan 2024, but since I had a change in status from Titanium -> Platinum, that increment was done in March 2023. I should expect no change in Jan 2024.
And since I'll be Platinum for March 2024-Feb 2025, I'll get a LT year in Jan 2025 corresponding to that.
Still curious what happens if I go up to went back up to Titanium before the end of the year though. Wonder if my counter will increment right away again. And what that means for future increments.
They sure make this complicated.
