It’s disappointing to hear that things have got so bad that they have now changed how conformance and indeed domestic to international connections work. When conformance came in, we were told it was based on estimated departure time and if there was a known long delay, then flight control could extend conformance. This used to happen, especially on days like yesterday.

Also, landing at 13:07 I’d expect all domestic connections for flights after. 14:00 to make it. I certainly don’t understand why you were stopped given that for customers landside, conformance would be 13:40 (35 mins before scheduled departure). This sounds more likely that someone looked at the delayed inbound and simply offloaded connecting customers. With that much time and knowing how constrained the domestic connections area is, it might have been quicker to go landside and try to see if any agents could have made a call to get you back onto the Miami flight. In my time at BA, during disruption, when we got asked to assist the operational teams in connections, the aim was always to get as many people onto their flights if there was a chance. It’s easier than dealing with rebooking, hotel, compensation etc and leaves the customer feeling better by getting to their destination as quickly as possible.

I’d definitely say it’s worth seeking compensation, setting out clearly the times as you did here.
