I've never gotten a paid upgrade offer for an award and I fly awards almost exclusively for domestic travel.

Basically here are your F possibilities:

First, if U space opens up on the flight you can call in and they will move you to business. EF pays for itself here.

Second, if you have status, you will be on the upgrade list as usual.
