However the seatbelt sign was on before and remained on after. So it's anyone guess as to when we're out of the turbulence and it's safe to go to the loo. Compared to European airlines, as mentioned, that properly use the seat belt sign and it's very clear when you must remain in your seat.

It's always a guess as to whether you are out of turbulence. Turbulence is unpredictable by definition. It is literally caused by unpredictable airflow. There is no way for the pilot to know.
