I currently have a UA reservation for a domestic flight. In the reservation, I entered my MileagePlus (no status) number rather than my KrisFlyer number for Singapore Airlines where I have gold status. At the very latest, you should be able to change it during OLCI at T-24. Partner *G status does not provide any benefits ahead of check-in, e.g., E+ seating, so I wouldn't worry about having your FFN swapped out until then.
