Scenario: Titanium for 2022 status year, but didn't not re-qualify. Dropped to Platinum for 2023 status year. Will maintain Platinum for 2024.
Per Marriott website:
"If you maintained the same Elite status in 2023 that you started with in 2023, your 2023 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be applied to your Account in January 2024."
I started 2023 as Titanium, but dropped to Plat for 2023, so no increment in Jan 2024.
"If you achieved a higher Elite status during 2023, your 2023 Eligible Status Year for the new, higher tier was applied at the time of achievement."
Not applicable
"If you did not meet the published criteria to renew your current status in 2023, your 2023 Eligible Status Year for your current status will be added in January 2024, and your Eligible Status Year for your new status will be added in March 2024 when your Elite status is updated."
My current status is Platinum, and I will renew as Platinum for 2024, so this section doesn't apply either.
Does this mean my lifetime counter will not increment in 2024?
The tricky thing is that Marriott status lasts for the year you get it, the calendar year after, and two months after that.

In January 2024, all Members will have their 2023 loyalty activity evaluated as follows:
- Members who achieved their existing Elite status again in 2023 will have their current status renewed through February 2025.
- Members who did not re-achieve their existing Elite status in 2023 will be downgraded. These Members can enjoy their existing Elite status level until February 2024. Subsequently, starting March 2024, they will see their new Elite status with an expiration date of February 2025.
- Members who achieved a higher Elite status during 2023 already have a status expiration date of February 2025.
Based on your post I think you had 75 nights in 2022 and 50 nights in 2023.
That means you have Titanium until February 2024, then from March 2024-February 2025 you have Platinum (of course you could go above that by staying more in 2024).
Specifically.
First clause is Titanium -> Titanium, doesn't apply
Second clause is Titanium -> Ambassador, doesn't apply
Third clause is Titanium -> Platinum (probably me too). You get your 2023 Platinum year added in Jan 2024, and your 2024 Platinum year added in March 2024. [Which is ostensibly quite weird, because they should just update it once a year...]
If you dropped from Titanium -> Gold and no soft landing. You get your 2023 Gold year added in Jan 2024 (if you're reading this thread, it's probably useless to you). You then get another Gold year in March 2024.
