I thought that it was an elegant way for Marriott to differentiate themselves from third party resellers of fractional interests which is why I brought it up. They could go a step further and give Members EQNs for their stays which is not part of the current T&Cs.

I hear a lot of grumbling about Bonvoy. I was impressed with the logic of their offer which benefits both Marriott and Members and takes very little away from the rest of the pool.
