PAN card & Overseas Hotel Bookings
Noticed on Agoda and Cleartrip that they're now asking for a PAN card number for overseas hotel bookings.
Has this become mandatory recently ?

This would be for an Indian Passport holder attempting to book a hotel room overseas using an Indian issued Credit Card.

Found this PAN bit to be rather strange...
