Spanair Business

I really enjoyed the detail of your post. The fotos where a nice touch.

I found my way here after a bad United business flight that was forced upon me by SAS, but look forward to using tips like yours in the future.

I am personally a big fan of Spanairs business class. I am a leisure traveler for the most part having had a second home down in Spain for the last 3 years.

I first switched to Business after going through many missing miles ordeals with Eurobonus. After the switch to Bangkok and with several rule changes in the same year I faced the obsurd statistic of an only 50% post statistic with Spanair. I usually checked in using Eurobonus card in Machine to bring up record. (so the EB number was there) Then SAS Bangkok argued with me sending me rules that were changed after my segments as back up. I never received credit!!!

Have had no problems with posting of points since switching to Business.

I am also amazed that more leisure travelers have not found this wonderful oportunity to fly business on one of Europe's longest segments. I really hope it continues and that more carriers discover the advantage of offering such services at fares that are leisure friendly.

I have flown 8 (Z) x ARN<->MAD on Spanair, 2 (Z) ARN<->BCN and 2 C CPH<->MAD on SAS this past year in Business. On one occasion (ARN-BCN) I was served a large steak, easily outdoing the meal served on my recent CPH-IAD on United. The meals have been served by course on 6 of the segments while "economy" style on the rest. SAS served tray from galley to table on my last segment as well.

Only problems encountered is that seat could not be reclined in last row of business (6C?) on 2 occasions and the film has malfunctioned on 2 occasions.

(all full paying Y are upgraded to Z automatically on Spanish domestic routes right now)

Now that SAS only upgrades to Business from Economy-Flex I will switch entirely over to Spanair where I can always have a confirmed business seat.

Probably the most important factor in this new service is the outward happiness of the crew. I have enjoyed excellent service on Spanair on all but a few instances.

Finnair and Iberia, while very efficient are cold in comparison to the Spanair crew. The food is similar. Finnair offers better wine selection and some other amenities but the business fares are not easy on the leisure travel budget.
