This will also stem my rapid draw down of AAdvantage miles that I've been going through lately.
But, looking at their 'advance go wild pricing', I'm not seeing this $1 for fare plus taxes rate they talk about. It just seems it's just a 'different' discount, and once and a while not even as good as discount den. Plus it seems that most of the 'Go Wild' flights have these 14+ hour connections. That said there are 'some' reasonable itineraries I can see, even if few and far between.
With the AMEX deal that does bring that yearly pass down to $460. I guess with status match fee involved, it's $560 all in (plus the actual 'go wild fares'). I mean, it has to be possible to find value in this over the course of a year, right?
The $0.01 plus tax GoWild fares are only available the day before a flight for domestic trips. If you are looking further in advance, there is an additional early booking fee. If you can plan trips several weeks in advance, Discount Den is probably a good option. Or you could purchase tickets during sales or at the airport (to avoid paying the CIC fee). GoWild is best if you want the flexibility of going
somewhere but not necessarily to a certain destination on a certain day.
