Besides the saver award option that is available to KF Gold and not any other Star Alliance Gold members, are there any specific benefits to Kris Flyer Gold?

I'm trying to weigh up the pros and cons of Kris Flyer Gold vs doing 4 sectors on A3 to expedite A3 Gold. My annual travel pattern typically takes me over and above the minimum A3 Gold (discounted) level, but not necessary over 50,000 miles (unless I ditch Oneworld completely, which is not entirely being discounted as an option at the moment - I'm already Lifetime Emerald with BA). The annual jaunt to Athens and her neighbouring islands to achieve 4 A3 sectors seems unnecessary if I'm already hitting the required miles...

As I age, I find myself increasingly less tolerant of crappy airports, run down cabins and shoddy service. So I naturally gravitate to SQ, QR and AS (and JL, CX, QF if the price is right).
