Maybe I am missing something, but why bother with booking and cancelling? Delta allows changes for main tickets. Why not just book a main ticket using the credits, and keep changing it until you can use it?
Because Delta IT sucks.
I have a couple trips right now that are not changeable online. It errors out.
Having to deal with a rep every time a change is needed sucks.
