Just to finish this off, I did split the booking although there was a hiccup on the way. One of the less experienced GGL call center folks told me that it wasn't possible without a space release (despite me telling them it was). I called one of the more experienced folks and they got it done without a fuss. So, thanks for all your advice otherwise I might have taken the first reply on face value.
