Tried to register a GreenDot debit card purchased from the promo, says unable to verify my identity even though I double checked name and SSN is correct. Says I won't be sent a card with my name nor can I use it online but I can use it for in-person transactions. Cannot login either. However, I tried using it at a store entering last 4 digits of card # as pin and it was declined.
Any ideas? I realize GreenDot are not popular for a reason but I can't even use it for organic spend.
Did it not ask you to create a PIN when you tried registering it? I know I had to do that when I bought a couple on the promo last in October. Maybe that came after the ID verification though. I don't remember exactly when they ask you do create a pin.
When I was draining a few GreenDots, each time it would give me not authorized for 2 attempts then go through on the third attempt, even though I am 100% sure I entered the pin I set correctly the first 2 attempts.
