So even checking in on the app doesn't lock in your room type assignment? I've been "unupgraded" before but I thought my mistake was not checking in when I saw the upgraded room listed in the app.
At the end of the day, the staff on site at the property are masters of their universe. I've learned through experience to not believe anything until I'm in the room (and even then, caveats apply).
