The value has been pretty solid for me, and if anything these changes make me nervous about something bad coming later (a "super-Globalist" status at 100 nights with a downgrading of the existing tiers?).
TL;DR: Given what "enhancements" usually look like, I'll take "stale and complacent" over the alternative 95% of the time.
[As to the "overpriced" awards - yeah, NYC is overpriced, but plenty of other places have decent values, especially if you consider dropping parking fees on awards.]
So much is subjective with any change on how one utilizes the program.
I believe early on limiting GOH is a fully net positive as it appears the flexibility with cash rates
and a stay credit are highly appealing.
It also may limits the program from potential abuse.
More changes are necessary across the board for the program in general but personally have never done more
than 2 or 3 GOH in a year
Perhaps I'm to stingy

Other than all that the worst thing would have been to eliminate the benefit/opportunity.
I still remember when stays no longer made the cut how upset some in the membership were when only night counts mattered
Unfortunately good or bad the older I get nothing stays the same for ever!
And self included change depending can frequently not be welcome so I get it!
