Had a special thanksgiving menu as we departed around 0100 (although we Americans consider this time peak thanksgiving eve where the “meal” is cheap beer with your old high school friends at your hometown bar, LOL) but I guess the menu makes sense since we were arriving the morning of thanksgiving. I didn’t get turkey, as I knew I’d be stuffing my face later than day at my family thanksgiving. But I digress. No issues getting soup and a starter, but sadly, this meal was a pretty big miss. Soup was good, but the starter…ooooof. The duck was absolutely rubbery and still frozen in the center. The fat was literally unchewable and had a very weird smell. Hate to say it, but this was the first time I didn’t finish a dish on QR due to it being so horrible, and had to send it away. The Indian veg main was alright, but nothing compared to the Indian veg I had ex-JFK with there being no flavor to the dish and tasting more like a Trader Joe’s microwave Indian meal. Dessert was good, but nothing special. The mid flight tikka masala was actually very good. But the breakfast, though looking decadent and served warm, tasted stale. Crew was hit or miss, with my FA being quite curt and dare I say, lazy. The CSD was great, and seemingly took over my FAs duties about 2 hours after take off and continued to serve me until landing. So overall, I’d say an average to below average meal and flight. Also apologies for not getting the wine list, but it was the same as my ex-JFK flight a few posts up.
