True, but they also had ~8 flights on big planes from the US to NRT, which connected nicely with MNL, HKG, PEK, SEL, SHA, and BKK (am I forgetting any?).

Now that DL has abandoned NRT (for logical reasons), the TYO connection idea is a nonstarter (i.e. they won't get intra-Asia slots at HND and other airlines are now capable of providing nonstop service to the US).

United has a shot and a prayer at serving BKK, SGN, KUL from SFO, but the idea of flying to any of those places from SEA makes zero sense. Furthermore, I'm betting that UA's SFO-MNL will not be around for long (i.e. PR will price it low enough to force UA to cut losses).
