As for *A lounges at LHR, indeed three of them are very good but when did you last board an A3 flight from a B gate. The fourth, catered by the same company as cater HM Prisons is awful, the No1 lounge A3 use at LGW is way better. The other thing about LGW is they get away on time much more often. Timekeeping at LHR has been chronic all summer and isn't getting much better now.
Flew LHR - ATH yesterday had plenty of time so went to SQ UA AC and LH lounges
Landed into ATH exactly on time . It was a great experience .
I have used LGW a lot with EI and recently VY the lounge while nice is often over crowded and the last 4 flights delayed. A few times recently they have turned away people it was so busy .
