I would not ask to "gate check" since in Europe, it is often understood as "check your baggage in the hold" and you will need to claim it with the regular bags in the baggage claims area.
All flights went brilliantly. Never had to check a bag and used the same gate tag for every flight. On our last flight from ARN to OSL on an A320 the gate agent said just take them on because the flight was half full. Thank you for your insight it made our 5 SAS flights so easy 🤩
