Thanks for a trip down memory-lane!
As a kid in the mid 80’s / 90’s I used to fly FRA-JNB on SAA or JNB-HKG (SAA or Cathay) frequently with my parents and we’d always have a fuel stop either in SAL (FRA-JNB) or MRU (JNB-HKG). I remember sometimes we’d be allowed off the plane, sometimes not. Fond memories of the days of the 747-200 Combi’s too.
