I am planning our Africa by train tour for August 2024. I am planning to spend 5 nights in Cape Town pre-tour based on IAD-CPT-IAD flights. I was going to stay at HR Cape Town, but after reading all the reviews I've booked all 5 nights at The Cellars-Hohenort on points (9K points per night for low season Cat 3 is much better than $300/night) and do day tours to Cape of Good Hope and wine tasting in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. The idea of a nice hotel with good food in a nice surrounding is appealing. We'll probably just go into Cape Town to walk around for a day.
