In fact, I'm not sure anything in PS is really luxury by FT standards.
The Parker, La Quinta are tip-top upscale at very least. I'd call the Parker, at least, luxury.
Colonie Palms and Kimpton quite nice as well.
And there's a zillion other 'luxury' chains with outposts, of course.
I've yet to stay at L'Horizon but it's supposed to be luxury or near. It's priced like it.
Kirkwood has several properties here that look good, among them La Serena Villas - it bills itself as luxury.
Ah thanks, Vaterland. Avalon wasn't the center of Hades or anything. Just not luxury. Not really even upscale, except maybe in a W kind of way.
I don't mean to poop on anyone's hotel, don't love writing 'bad' things, so i try to inject some humor to keep it smiley. Try to find even the worst property's upside, if there are indeed any mitigating points.
Yeah lobbies. Love a great lobby.
Thanks so much for the props on my 'bird! A blast for local driving, and I finally moved her to L.A. where she's deserved to live for a long time now. But not ideal for trips of longer than, say, 30 miles. I fear any further car discussion will get ding'd as off-topic, but thanks for noticing!!!
Thanks for the rundown Cornwall but I did come across an article the other week raving about this new property called Sensei Porcupine Creek but looks like it is much more closer to Rancho Mirage than PS
